Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of the Everest app and of geteverest.app. By installing or using Everest you accept them. Questions: support@geteverest.app.
The service
Everest turns the steps counted by your phone into progress toward named, illustrated badges, with daily, weekly and all-time goals, background sync and notifications. It requires a compatible iPhone or Android phone and your permission to read step data from Apple Health or Health Connect.
Subscription
Everest is a paid app: a subscription is required after onboarding. Two plans exist: 2.99 EUR per week with no free trial, or 19 EUR per year with a 3 day free trial. Prices in other currencies are shown in the stores before purchase.
The yearly free trial converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Billing and renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at purchase confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically; your account is charged for the next period within 24 hours before the current one ends.
You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your store settings: on iPhone under Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
Restore purchases
An active subscription can be restored on the same store account with the Restore purchases button in the app. Because your progress is tied to an anonymous device identifier, it also survives a reinstall on the same device.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their own policies. Request a refund through the App Store or Google Play, not by email; we have no ability to charge or refund you directly.
Not medical advice
Everest is a motivation product, not a medical device. Step counts come from your phone sensors and can be imprecise. Badge thresholds are milestones anchored to real distances, rounded to memorable numbers. Nothing in the app is medical advice; consult a professional before significantly changing your physical activity.
Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse engineer the app, abuse or overload our servers, tamper with the anonymous identifier to manipulate results, or use Everest in violation of applicable law.
Intellectual property
The Everest name, app, badge illustrations and texts are protected. Badges reference famous public places and feats for information and motivation; the referenced places, brands and organizations are not affiliated with Everest and do not endorse it.
Availability
Background sync and notification timing depend on your operating system, which batches background work; a badge notification can arrive with delay (the badge itself is dated at the real crossing). We may evolve or discontinue features; if a change substantially reduces the service, you keep it until the end of your paid period.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Everest is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also keep the mandatory protections of your country of residence.
